Bumblebees Class

Welcome Bumblebees!

In science we have been learning about weather. We created weather maps and reported the weather across the UK. We have also been investigating shadows and creating wind socks. We then recorded the weather in Yeoford in Spring
We celebrated Holi Festival with the school, Holi is the festival of colour, We learnt what each colour represented and why it is an important Hindu festival. After celebrating Holi by throwing powder paint and dancing to traditional music we created these beautiful pictures.
Our book is We're Going on a Bear Hunt! We stumbled through the forest, found our way through the swirling whirling snow storm before crawling through a deep dark cave!
The Bumblebees have been investigating plants and how they grow through our book The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle. We dispersed our own seeds before creating the journey of our seed through drama. We have been digging up the outdoor classroom to find out how’s plant grows and the different parts of a plant,
We have some budding artists in Bumblebees! The Bumblebees have been learning line drawings in art. Here are some of the beautiful drawings by our Pre-School, Reception and Year 1 children of the plants.

Please see the Power Point from the Curriculum Afternoon which explains the EYFS curriculum, Reading at home and Tapestry.

Tapestry Show and Tell
If your child is keen to share with us something they have made, found and did at home, please upload a picture/video to Tapestry. Please do not send items/toys in from home. All our show and tell is through Tapestry.
We have recently started the teaching of phonics. We will be using Cued Articulation alongside Phonics Bug Club. Cued Articulation is an action to encourage the children to clearly articulate the sounds.

Here are the links showing the actions for the sounds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZPaS-3C5vQ
